Sorry to get commercial on you, but I have obligations to the IRS, too.

Besides, it’s about time you appreciate what some of us do to eke out a living.

I can’t take credit for this idea. I borrowed it from Jim Schoemer because I think he hit the target. Jim is a copywriter and owner of JP Schoemer Communications in Sheboygan, WI, http://www.jpschoemer.com. Rather than reinventing a wheel or leading you to believe that this is my brainchild, I received Jim’s permission to rewrite his exercise a bit to include errors I commonly encounter.

So, if you want a change of pace from today’s crossword puzzle, or if you’d like to expand your mind by doing this and a crossword puzzle, please continue

Can You Find the 41 Errors?
41 grammar, usage and style errors appear in these 2 paragraphs. Each of these intentionally-placed errors were selected with regards to how common they appear, even in high end materials. The client often has no idea how week their writing maybe, and many agencies, artists and Marketing Departments simply don’t mind their P’s & Q’s to insure the quality & accuracy of the written content of the pieces they produce. Their far more orientated towards the visual content. Project Managers may not miss not having a real writer on the project till someone that can write points out how much better it’s quality could (or should) have been. This tends to make the principle source and/or a agency look rather bad. Poor writing can cost a company its’ image. (as well as capitol)

I write and edit for agencies, departments and companies which realize the ability to string words together does not make one a writer. While on the surface, this particular self-promo piece focuses upon grammar, I also can’t over-emphasize how I could make you're communications more stimulating, provocative and substantive. Considering costs and competition today, you can not afford to produce boring, run of the mill, headlines, body copy, news releases, letters, speeches, publications, ads or promotional materials. (I also have extensive experience in marketing, advertising and public relations, too, which means I could provide valuable external prospectives on such communication issues as, strategies, objectives, tone, style, sensitivity, how people perceive you, and morale). Good writing involves more than being interesting, having a degree, or being able to run a computer program. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you think I could help you. Thank-you for your interest.

(Editor’s note: My Microsoft grammar checker flagged only three of the errors.)
