Forty-one grammar, usage, and style errors appear in these two paragraphs. Each of these intentionally placed errors was selected with regard to how commonly it appears, even in
high-end materials. The client often has no idea how weak his or her writing may be, and many agencies, artists, and marketing departments simply dont mind their Ps and Qs to ensure the quality and accuracy of the written content of the pieces they produce. Theyre far more oriented toward the visual content. Project managers may not miss having a real writer on the project until someone who can write points out how much better its quality could (or should) have been. This tends to make the principal source or an agency look rather bad. Poor writing can cost a company its image (as well as capital).
I write and edit for agencies, departments, and companies that realize the ability to string words together does not make one
a writer. While, on the surface, this particular self-promo piece focuses on grammar, I also cant overemphasize how I could help make your communications more stimulating, provocative, and substantive. Considering costs and competition today, you
cannot afford to produce boring, run-of-the-mill headlines, news releases, letters, speeches, publications, ads,
or promotional materials. (I also have extensive experience in marketing, advertising, and public
relations, which means I could provide invaluable, external perspectives on such communication issues as strategies, objectives, tone, style, sensitivity, perceptions, and morale.) Good writing involves more than being interesting, having a degree,
or being able to run a computer program. Please dont hesitate
to contact me if you think I could help you. Thank you for your interest.
