Things I Don't Know

If I’ll still be tuning into classic rock radio when I’m 70.

Just how ridiculous I’ll look, cranking up the volume, playing air guitar and singing "Brown Sugar."

How no one persuaded me to read The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States until I lived here almost 50 years (thanks, Don).

Why we continue to allow ourselves to be dependent on foreign oil.

Why we just don’t trade a barrel of grain for a barrel of oil.

Why we pay people not to farm land, when we could pay them to grow more crops to produce ethanol or feed others.

An explanation for man’s inhumanity to man.

Why some people can’t come up with a more dignified name for
Adult Daycare Center.

What we’re going to do when all the people who got through
World War II and the Depression aren’t around to testify.

Who’s going to say the rosary every morning.

How parents can carry on when their 20-year-old kids are pursuing fanatics in a place like Afghanistan.

Why I so often forget to look for the beauty and humor when I get up in the morning.
